  • How do I activate my wrap?
To activate your premium beeswax wrap unfold it, wad it up as tightly as possible in your hands and unpeel it out to full size. This will activate the beeswax and resin tackiness. If the beeswax wrap comes already warm and sticky and you cannot eaily unpeel it, wait to bring to room temperature or cool it off in the fridge for a small period of time and repeat the unfolding process and wading process. If that does not work and they truly have arrived in an extreme temperature condition see the FAQ on extreme temperature.
  • Can I use this for meat and seafood?
No! Although the premium beeswax wraps are naturally antibacterial they are not intended for raw meat or seafood. They are perfect for: Fresh fruit and vegtables: All kinds and sizes are perfect for your wraps! Sandwiches- great to fold and reuse around your sandwich. Use a produce brush to lift crumbs afterwards. Breads and Pies: All kinds of breads and fresh pies look great sporting a wrap. Cheese: Brie to chedder and beyond with your snack crackers. Snack nuts and trail mixes.
  • Are these safe?
Yes! GreenCaltura sources the best beeswax which is organic and naturally antimicrobial. Our cotton comes from the 1% of the worlds orgainic cotton and is GOTS certified. We use food grade dyes in all our colors and the FDA has approved our product for your food safety. They are food safe, yet we do not recommend that you eat them.
  • How do long do they last?
Depending on the frequency and type of use the can last anywhere from 6 months to a year. We have made extra tacky wraps for long use premium wrapping, but ultimately it does depend on usage and care to include storage. If you live in a particulary dry climate they may appear to "dry out" and may need to be reactivated more frequently. We call this the brown sugar effect (for the bakers in the community). If this becomes frustrating please reach out to us. We want this to be a simple journey and are here to help. Christine@GreenCaltura.com We recommend you biodegrade the material once you have felt they need to be refreshed. If you feel the cloth is still durable but no longer tacky you may reseason them. You also can repurpose the wrap as a wrap for your travel toothbrush or use them to wrap and pound nuts for your favorite recipe. We love to hear your ideas so please share them! We are always looking for new designs and recommend you sign up for our refresh discount when you are ready for a new set and possilbly a new design.
  • How do I unpackage my wraps when they arrive in extreme hot or cold weather?
These wraps are all natural and will be impacted by many elements such as heat, humidity, cold and direct sunlight. We package them in 100% recycled plastic to keep them "fresh" and away from the elements when in storage and transport as they are food grade. It is important to store them in a cool dry place when not in use. Exposure to unsuitalbe elements may speed up the life cycle of your wraps. Some tips: *If the wraps arrived at your home in an extreme hot temperature and have stuck together, but now are at room temperature, place them on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and put them in a warm oven for a few minutes so they can be pulled apart. Please watch the oven as you don't want to cook them. You are only heating them up to release them so they can peel apart. * If your wraps arrived at your home in an extreme cold temperature (possibly frozen!) bring them up to room temperature and then activate them with your hands. We try to avoid the oven, but if you cannot wait to naturally bring up to room temperature then put them in the oven for just a few minutes as instructed above. Again, watch the oven to be safe and avoid cooking them.
